Church Ministries

McConnell Memorial Baptist Church offers a variety of ministry opportunities.

These opportunities give Christian believers of age the ability to develop
and mature in their Christian discipleship and service.

Christian Education

Bible study and discipleship are "cornerstones" of a growing and productive ministry to the church and community. Weekly meetings, special training events, and exciting growth opportunities are available for every age group.  A new feature is the University of Christian Training which helps develop, plan, and implement discipleship courses and studies for Christians desiring an indepth approach.
Worship/Music Ministry A variety of groups are offered in the church to teach, train, and lead people to better voice their praise to God.  The church's worship services are characterized by a variety of music styles and presentations to minister to a wide range of people's needs. Worship is focused on praising and thanking God for His grace, love, and mercy.
Students
Grade 7 through college youth are involved in Bible study, missions, discipleship, praise, music, recreation, and service. They participate in yearly trips and opportunities for ministry.
Children

Because of the growth of the church and its ministries children are an important part of the life of the church.  Sunday School, Awana, Children's Choirs, Upward Basketball, and Kidstreet Children's Worship are just a few of the ministries to help the children grow in the Lord.

Women's Missionary Union
This organization of dedicated women educates, trains, and inspires the church's mission involvement.  They are one of the oldest Southern Baptist Convention mission groups and sponsor weekly meetings, local events, and encourage monetary support of missionaries and programs.
Senior Adults There are many retired and semi-retired people who move to the area because of its appeal, beauty, and lifestyle. They are very active people who love to serve the church, participate in activities, and fellowship together.  Many opportunities are available for involvement and Christian growth with monthly trips, weekday Bible study, Kitchen Klackers, and Semi-Annual Vacation Excursions.
Men The church has an active group of men who enjoy working, serving, and meeting for fellowship.  Monthly and weekly meetings are offered to strengthen their needs through the Brotherhood fellowship.  Mission Teams, ushers, the Repair And Maintenance Servants, and many other opportunities exist for service.
Audio Visual This strong ministry of the church ministers to the entire community through the media of television. Sunday morning and evening services are broadcast on local cable channel 4. A dedicated group of trained volunteers assist with this vital evangelism tool to the church and community.
Outreach Growth in the church is strongly related to yearly events like the Wild Game Supper and Judgement House which involve many volunteers.  These ministries reach many people with the message of salvation.  Ongoing weekly outreach ministries such as Grow Teams and First Touch contact members of the community in a variety of personal ministry ways.  Stephen Ministers are available for individuals and families with specific needs related to grief and life-crisis events.
